Just a Little Nutty is one person weighing and sealing every pack by hand in Walnut Creek, California. Five tree nuts, each chosen for the nutrition it brings, nothing added.

The permit that lets us do that is a California permit. Under California law, a small food operation like ours sells inside the state and nowhere else. That is not a shipping preference, and it is not a rate problem we could solve with a better carrier. It is the licence we operate under, and we follow it.

So we made a decision. Rather than quietly turn people away at checkout, we are telling you exactly where we are.

What we are doing about it

We are moving production to a certified co-packing facility. Packing somewhere certified lifts the California limit and lets us ship anywhere in the country.

We are working through the details right now, and we expect to know a lot more in the coming weeks. We will update this page as we learn, rather than waiting until everything is signed.

It comes down to two things: finding the right facility, and funding it. When both land, we go. We are not going to put a date on this page that we might miss.

And if you want to help

People ask this and we never quite know how to answer without sounding like we are asking for something. So, plainly:

The two things standing between us and a national launch are the right facility and the money to do it. Orders and word of mouth move the second one directly. And if you run a company that does client or employee gifting and you have California recipients, that is the part of the business funding this move.
